Mai Tai Sunrise, 8 x 16 inches, oil on linen sold

During my stay in Maui, I got to stay in a house with a million dollar view. I slept in a bedroom where the entire side of the room opened up to this view, so of course I slept with the wall/door/windows wide open.

The sherbet skies in the mornings were so refreshing and delicious, I just had to paint them. I hardly needed to get out of bed to do this one. The atmospherics obscure them in this depiction, but the islands of Lanai and Molokai are visible from my eyrie.
