Many times I'm asked to do a demo on how I approach my in-studio cityscape painting, and I've always resisted because I really don't have a specific method and it's such an unpredictable, process-dependent thing. Sometimes I come away with a pretty good painting, other times it blows up in my face. And I never know if it'll take two hours or two months!

Well that's about to change. I've committed to doing a cityscape painting demo next Saturday, April 28th, at the Holton Studio Gallery in Berkeley, CA!

I'm still not sure if I can pull it off, but I kind have been in a rut lately and I thought what the hell, let's just do it. Let's just get it started and see where it goes. If I fail, it'll be instructional because I can talk about why my painting sucked! Haha~

No, seriously though– I think I'll focus on my intents and decision making processes, and not so much on producing a slick painting. That's what I would expect from demos by other artists, after all.

If you're in the area, please join me next Saturday! Remember, this is my first ever cityscape demo and you might be able to witness a spectacular failure! (I hope not) I may never do this again, so who knows, a once in a lifetime opportunity, may be. (OK, I'm somewhat confident it won't be too bad)

I will also be bringing with me some figurative works, and even still life studies (nobody's ever seen those!) and I'll be talking about them, as time allows.
